We are pleased to announce that the GLOBES graduate program is now part of the John J. Reilly Center for Science, Technology, and Values. The move will take place before the start of the Fall 2013 semester and will allow for maximum collaboration between the two entites in the coming school year.
Over the course of the year, GLOBES will host several events and gatherings in the new Reilly Center location and co-host important interdisciplinary events involving the humanities, sciences, engineering, and law.
GLOBES is charged with leading a graduate program that takes an interdisciplinary approach to human and environmental health studies. Teams of GLOBES student scholars, faculty, and researchers from throughout the University’s College of Science, College of Arts and Letters, and Law School will continue work together to seek innovative solutions to interrelated problems of infectious disease, invasive species, and environmental degradation that threaten the well-being of humanity and the planet.
The Reilly Center has long been one of GLOBES' partners and many of our Reilly Fellows are on the faculty of GLOBES, including Jeffrey Feder, Jessica Hellmann, and David Lodge, who took leading roles in forging this partnership. Other Reilly Fellows on the faculty include: Hope Hollocher, David Severson, Agustin Fuentes, James, McKenna, Mark Schurr, Christopher Hamlin, Jon Coleman, Don Howard, Grant Ramsey, Kristin Shrader-Frechette, Darcia Narvaez, George Howard, Matthew Ashley, Gerald McKenny, and John Nagle.
