The Health, Humanities, and Society program is made possible by the great generosity of Joan Storozynski Coogan and Phil Coogan. The Reilly Center, through the Educating the Whole Physician lecture series, funds academic lectures and other events on the ND campus (or virtually) each academic year that address medicine, illness, disability, medical education, or any similar subject. Proposals from the humanities, arts, and the social sciences that engage with these subjects are especially welcome, though funding is open to faculty from all colleges.

Grants of $1,500 are available for these events. Proposals should include the following elements:

1. information on the proposed speaker and subject, and its link to the Health, Humanities, and Society
2. identification of the expected audience on campus
3. How students will be enriched by this event.
4. Budget and timeline

The deadline for submitting the application is April 20, 2021.

For more information, please contact the director of Health, Humanities, and Society Vania Smith-Oka (vsmithok@nd.edu). Please submit proposals to the program administrator, Tori Davies (tdavies@nd.edu).
