I am pursuing a dual JD/PhD degree in the History and Philosophy of Science program. At this triple intersection are my driving questions about truth—what it is and how we pursue it. One specific area of interest is the historical and contemporary interaction between scientific and legal expertise/evidence/proof. Another is what constitutes good “judgment,” a concept that involves questions about virtue and realism, bringing together ethics and epistemology.
Prior to coming to Notre Dame, I received a BS in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry from Yale University and an MPhil in the History & Philosophy of Science from the University of Cambridge. I also worked as a middle school math and science teacher. Some essentials in my life are soccer, singing, and Shakespeare.
