Biography
Maya Ardon is a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences in Dr. Jason Rohr’s lab. She is broadly interested in the health and development co-benefits of environmental adaptation efforts, specifically in regard to reducing the risks and burdens of environmentally-mediated diseases. In the Rohr Lab, she utilizes geospatial methods and field studies to study the ecology of schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease caused by parasitic flatworms. Her curiosity extends through many fields within the planetary and global public health spaces, including disease ecology, geography, and sustainable development.
