Kylie Lawson

Kylie Lawson is a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences co-advised by Drs. Daniele Miranda and Mike Pfrender. She studies how PFAS (per- and poly- fluoro alkyl substances), a widespread group of toxic and environmentally persistent chemicals, affect fishes in the Great Lakes. Currently she utilizes toxicological as well as transcriptomic and genomic level techniques to study how PFAS accumulate and affect Walleye and their microbiomes. Kylie is eager to be a part of the GLOBES program and leverage her expertise for betterment of public health initiatives in her community.
