Char is a PhD student in the philosophy track of the History and Philosophy of Science Program and a graduate minor in the Gender Studies Program. Her main area of interest lies in philosophy of medicine, where she explores the role of imagination in facilitating and inhibiting health behaviors in patients diagnosed with chronic medical conditions as well as its role in mediating the relationships among patients and medical professionals. In addition, she is interested in the way social kinds enter into medical research in the form of independent variables.
