Claire Murphy, a graduate student in the History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) program, has recently published an article titled "The Apostle of 'Common Sense': The Historical Roots of Duhem’s Distinction between Physics and Metaphysics." The article, published by The University of Chicago Press Journals, offers an interpretation of the influential ideas of French physicist and philosopher Pierre Duhem, particularly his 1905 essay "Physics of a Believer."
