WHERE EMBODIED KNOWLEDGE AND SOUND CONVERGE
Beyond the obvious mood-enhancing effects of music, the right track can elevate our spirits in unimaginable ways — when that bassline gets into our bones, when rhythms synchronize with our heartbeats to unlock memories our bodies have safeguarded. Layered textures of production create topographies of feeling that no clinical trial could ever formally document. By conceptualizing our bodies as archives that respond to and interpret these musical elements, the ensuing conversation positions Hip Hop as a laboratory where science, technology, and embodied knowledge converge — spaces where producers and artists conduct experiments in sound that tell us a great deal about our physical, emotional, and spiritual existence.
