Ted Beatty will discuss his ongoing research on the global mobility of technology and technical knowledge, largely embodied or facilitated by professional engineers in the period 1870-1930. The project is jointly conducted with Israel G. Solares at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and has been partially funded by the NSF.
