HPS Colloquium. Andreas De Block, "Prejudice and psychological essentialism: a critical examination of some psychological literature on homophobia”
Recent social-psychological research claims that homonegativity is positively correlated with essentialist beliefs about homosexuality. I will argue that this research is at least partially flawed because it is based on careless- or philosophically naive - operationalisation of both homonegativity and essentialism.
